Dark red-light purple in color. The nose offers barn, spice, earth, and piney black fruit along with pipe tobacco notes. A classic Chianti, with licorice, earth, dried black cherries, and black currant/cassis flavors with excellent concentration. Tannins are super-fine (a function of the wine's age), and the long finish adds more licorice notes.
