Goyo Landaluce ignored the potential of higher volume to maintain the unique taste of his production method (whole grape fermentation) and low yield from very old vines. Although the wine is from the hugely popular Rioja region, its is not from a mass producer. Fincas de Landaluce is produced on a small family vineyard of just 30 hectares. Landaluce use only their own grapes and do not buy from other vineyards. This keeps the quality at its highest. Fincas de Landaluce is made from grapes from 60+ year old vines, adding to the complexity of the taste and character of the wine. Aged for 12 months in French Oak. Grape: 100% Tempranillo. On the nose: Wonderful scent and richness, combines rich red fruits with some spice and hints of vanilla. Rounded on the palate with lots of layers of red fruit and some smoky characters; savoury and complex with fine tannins and freshness on the finish
