The Alexander Valley is located just east of Highway 101, in the northern part of Sonoma County. With just 40 wineries (about 15,000 acres of vines!), it produces some of the finest Cabernets in the county. Rich, ripe fruit and smooth tannins are the typical traits of an Alexander Valley-produced wine. Known for some of the larger wineries like Clos Du Bois and Rodney Strong, there are many smaller, excellent wineries like Murphy-Goode and Owl Ridge, to be explored throughout the valley. The 2013 vintage is considered to be among the best in recent history.
