Tocai Friulano, also known as Sauvignon Vert, yields dry whites with pronounced minerality, acidity and gentle fruitiness. Not considered related to either the ubiquitous Sauvignon Blanc grape or the famous Tokaji wine of Hungary, Tocai is believed to have originated in Italy’s Veneto, spreading to regions including Friuli and Lombardia and as distant as Chile and Oregon. It is produced from 2.5 acres of Tocai Friulano grapes Biodynamically grown at the Chehalem Mountain AVA site—Johnson School.
